The start of 2010 continued to be an exciting time of new developments. Caroline has mastered the art of sitting up on her own and loves to play with all of her toys on the floor. She has also begun to giggle and respond to Mommy and Daddy's tickling. She's now able to hold her bottle and sippy cups by herself. She's getting FOUR new teeth on the top, and best of all, she has started to say "mum mum"! At first it just seemed like she was making noises, but she clearly uses it appropriately when looking for Nicky. Daddy's trying to get her on board with "dada" but no luck so far.
January included a visit from Grandpa and Grandma Heilman, which we all enjoyed very much (especially Caroline). Uncle Kip and Jenn came down from Connecticut to spend a day with everyone too. We all had a fun time playing Wii bowling and spoiling Caroline. She even got to go out to her first dinner at Patriot Place.
More recently we visited the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, CT to spend a day with our New York friends (the Laygans and Frasiolas's). Caroline was fascinated by the sea lion show. We didn't think she would really have much interest in the sea lions, but as soon as the show started she was kicking her legs and pushing herself toward them.
Caroline also recently celebrated her first Valentine's Day with a Boyer/Roberts Sunday night dinner with her buddie Charlie. He even gave her a valentine card and a kiss!!
Finally, Caroline is very close to crawling! She can scoot around on her belly and get to her toys, but she's also getting up on her knees and trying to crawl. We have a feeling once she gets going, there is going to be no stopping her!
