Well, with winter creating havoc in the Northeast, there was little time to do anything beyond shoveling. At least that's the excuse we're using for not sending out an update since October. It's been a busy and fun 5 months, and Caroline is growing like a weed.
A lot has happened, including a car trip to Pennsylvania to see Grammy and Pappy Boyer, Aunt Mel, and the Hostetlers for Thanksgiving, a party with Santa Claus at Uncle Matt and Aunt Andie's country club (Caroline was not a Santa fan), Christmas Day with Uncle Kip and Maddie, a January visit from Papa and Gaga Heilman, and a dream inter-family Super Bowl match-up between the Steelers and Packers.
Which brings us to...Caroline's broken leg. The morning of Super Bowl XLV, we were heading out to the store, and Daddy slipped on the ice while carrying Caroline. She was limping later that afternoon, so we went to the ER. The ER doctor did not even do an x-ray because she was putting weight on it. Two days later we went to the pediatrician, they x-rayed it, and low and behold there was a small compression fracture. Two short weeks in a cast did the trick, and she was good as new. Needless to say Daddy felt awful and everyone made sure to make him feel even worse! Even Caroline was saying "Daddy fall" every time we walked past our sidewalk. Needless to say, Super Bowl Sunday this year was just a disaster all around for Daddy.
Hope everyone is doing well.
